Mayor Carl PriceCarl R. Price is the Mayor of Doaktown, New Brunswick, bringing over three decades of
business acumen and municipal leadership to the community. Born and raised in
Doaktown to the late Etta and George Price, Carl’s lifelong connection to the Miramichi
area fuels his deep commitment to representing his home community.
Carl resides in Doaktown with his wife, Elaine, whom he married in 1973. They are the
proud parents of Kyla and grandparents of Matthew, who shares a uniquely close bond
with his grandfather.
Prior to his mayoral tenure, Carl spent 42 years as a successful local business owner,
giving him a practical, foundational understanding of entrepreneurship and the local
economy.
Carl’s extensive public service spans 26 years on the Village Council, including nine
years as Deputy Mayor and multiple terms as Acting Mayor. An expert in regional
planning, he serves as an active, voting representative on the Greater Miramichi
Service Commission Board.
Carl is highly respected for his unwavering commitment to public safety and community
service. His extensive background in emergency medical response includes nine years
of dedicated service with Saint John Ambulance, complemented by three and a half
years of professional experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Over his tenure, Carl has cultivated strong, collaborative relationships with provincial
MLAs, Ministers, federal MPs, and key government organizations to advocate
effectively for Doaktown’s strategic development.
His 2026–2030 term marks a historic milestone for the municipality: for the first time
since the village's incorporation 60 years ago, a father and daughter are serving
together on council, as Carl shares the chambers with his daughter, Kyla Price.
